I find it interesting that the things that I know are healthy and make me feel the best, are often the very thing that I dread doing.
Take running... When I plan to run in the evening, I debate with myself all day about whether or not I will do it. Usually, I do end up going, but only when I have told myself that I will just run for 10 minutes and can walk the rest of the way. Luckily for me, when I do begin running, I will often run for longer than planned. However, I feel that so much energy is wasted on dreading the run even though I know that I ALWAYS feel awesome after a good run (or workout). When will I learn that if I just get up, go do it and stop thinking about it, that I will be better off??!!
As you may have guessed, I had a great run tonight :D
If something's got you down...... Run like the wind!!!!!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...
Wow! April 19 already and not a new post in sight for months! I suppose I should change that, yet once again, am driven to the blogging world out of a combination of procrastination and boredom... Therefore, I will have to make this quick ( I have a final tomorrow at 9am and still have a rediculous amount of material to cover).
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad.
As the title of this post suggests, I will be posting about a "few of my favourite things" (and yes, the "OU" is necessary :)
In approximately 10.5 days, I will be graduating from college with my bachelors degree in nursing, a favourite topic because this has been a time that I have been looking forward to for a long long time!
Another favourite: puppies
Even better?: My own puppy
Need I say more??
Meet Harper
I will pick her up in approximately 2 weeks. In the mean time, another one of my much needed procrastination methods (HA) has been to read any and every reference regarding what to expect when bringing puppy home, how to best train puppy, etc... I am daydreaming about puppy kisses, snuggle times, walks and yes, realistic adventures (sleepless nights and indoor accidents to name a few).
One more "favourite" that cannot go unnamed.... SPRING TIME (hence the GREEN writing) :)
April 18th here in Sault Ste. Marie= Snow storm, wind, rain, COLD.... Here is a picture that a classmate posted on facebook...
Lovely, eh?? His caption read "Icicles should not look like this, especially in the middle of April".
*SIgh*
Despite the weather, I have no doubt that spring is coming, along with green, flowers, and happiness! I also have no doubt that graduation is coming! However, it is 10:12 at night and I still have LOTS to learn about community health nursing, so here goes nothing!
Until next time~
When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad.

01-11-2011
1/11/11
I feel like today is going to be a good day.
Make today a good day.
I will rejoice in each day and make each day a great day.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
Each day is a new start. Be who you want to be and live how you want to live.
